Mechanical Design Engineer

Position will involve working with Marketing, Sales and other product design and manufacturing engineers to lead and coordinate the development of new product designs from concept into production. Position interacts with the Electro-Mechanical Development teams to interface electronics into mechanical products.Design and manage new products from concept development to productionWork with manufacturing engineers to develop and document tooling and assembly requirements for new designs Work with model markers to validate models and prototypes of concepts and engineered designsPerform feasibility studies with existing products to reduce costs and increase performanceParticipate in design reviews, DFMA, Lean initiativesOther duties and projects as assignedPosition requires the ability to work in a highly focused cross functional team environment, highly energetic, product development business integration environmentMinimum 5 years product design experience with 2 years lock design preferredProject management experience a plusBS Mechanical EngineeringExperience with small part design/manufacturing processes produced as stampings, screw machine, powdered metal, molded, cast and other conventional machining methodsExperience in electro-mechanical design integrating mechanical and electronic assemblies a plusSolidWorks CAD experience requiredExcellent communication and presentation skills. Must be proficient in communicating across the organization and work without direct supervision
