Stellenbosch University’s Tygerberg Campus

The main purpose of the Backlog Maintenance Project on the Stellenbosch University’s Tygerberg Campus is not only to catch up on maintenance on these 40 year old institutional buildings, but also to improve the efficiency and utilization of the spaces inside.

Project

In other words it should be seen as a general upgrade in space and modernity.

It is a privilege to work with Roelof Rabe Architects on this project who has graciously allowed us to publish this project.

It is also a privilege to work on a project where ‘new life’ is being breathed into buildings through the use of the latest design offerings from the ironmongery market to comply with the latest building and fire regulations.

Challenge

As the building is in use by students and academic personnel all the time, it is important to specify ironmongery that can be used as temporary solutions and refitted later as permanent solutions.
